Nevada Policy again offering $3,000 ‘Freedom Scholarship’

The Nevada Policy Research Institute is once again offering a $3,000 Professor R.S. Nigam & Nevada Policy Freedom Scholarship to a graduating Clark County high school student who demonstrates a passion for economic liberty and individual freedom.

The scholarship, which can be used for any education-related expense, is open to all graduating high school students in Clark County who plan to attend college in the fall of 2021— whether they attend a public, private, online or home school.

To apply for the scholarship, students are asked to complete the following steps:

  1. First, watch this video on who Milton and Rose Friedman here.
  2. Second, pick an episode (included in this link) to watch from the Free to Choose Network’s re-published videos from Milton Friedman’s original series
  3. Then write a 1-2 page paper on the episode you chose, describing why that idea helps to promote personal and economic freedom.

All applicants must have a grade point average of at least 3.2 and complete an application, which includes the above essay question.

To be eligible, a student’s parents must have earned less than $125,000 in income in 2020 (or the last filed income tax statement), and the student must plan to attend a four-year degree program in business, economics, political science, public administration or a related field, at an accredited college or university.

Essays and applications are due by June 15, 2021.
